New show THURSDAYS at La Laugh Factory. Heckle me if you dare. - February 6, 2007

(Printer Friendly Version)

"Bill Dawes College Night" is now Thurdays at TEN PM at the Los Angeles LAUGH FACTORY on Sunset and Laurel!!! (right by the gay bar called "Crunch Gym" and Hyde "celebritywhores R us" Nightclub.)

Please help me out and tell your friends and show up since it's my first night. If it goes well, I'll get to keep it and potentially make dozens of dollars performing at the Laugh Factory every week!

TICKETS ARE ONLY $10! The lineup is gonna include Godfrey, Rich Vos, Skyler Stone, and special surprise guests!

Since I'm trying to stay away from hacky "so I kiled him" punchlines and Asian vagina stereotypes (you get a fortune when you fuck one, you know!), I'm also going to be trying out new PERSONAL material for those of you who know me and are tired of the same anal fisting jokes.

I might even talk about what it was like going to T.C. Williams High School. A crazy public school in Virginia that was comprised of inner city blacks, me, and like 5 retarded kids. I used to get my ass kicked ALL THE TIME... by those retarded kids. Hey, they were strong.

Even worse, they were in my gym class. You know you suck at a sport when retarded people called you retarded.

"Birr, you only threw dat shotput 10 feet. Wha, you forget your helmet, TUPID! I LOVE CANDY!"

Okay, it needs work. Wait'll you see what I do with it after 3 vodka tonics on Thursday!

Call LAUGH FACTORY at 323 656 1336 to RSVP for tickets if possible.

Or just show up.

Or you can leave a comment HERE and I'll see if I can put you on the rudiusmedia VIP guest list.

Thanks,

bill

I think you can get in younger, but no drinking.

Wasn't that the high school from Remember The Titans?

Hey Bill you emailed me about your Improv show in Ontario, but I got drunk and passed out before checking my email. Can you put me on the list for 2 this Thursday? Hit me back to let me know.

Booyakasha!

I'll try to check out a show if you have one when I'm going to NYC, Oct 10-14. It better be worth a drunken subway ride.

I'm having a little trouble with the list.

I thought I had a close to unlimited guest list, but it looks like I don't have one at all now.

I'm going to work something out. Email your full name at bill@billdawes.com.

I will probably be only to do +1.

I grew up in NOVA as well. TC Williams stories are sure to entertain the masses for hours! Good luck!

Hey Bill..... your opinion actually matters to me..... and I have read your blog about plagerism and how you have had people gripe about joke stealing....but I was wondering how you feel about this whole Joe Rogan VS. Carlos Mencia thing......??? just curious.

Posted by: Brandon at February 16, 2007 10:49 AM

I don't know too much about the Carlos, Rogan thing.

I think people, in general, take it too fucking seriously.

It's amazing how much overlap I see. I always assume it's just parallel thinking or obvious observations.

The fact that the big incriminating "steal" is that Mexican fence joke that I've heard about 18,000 variations of makes me lose interest in the argument instantly.

I've been accused of stealing jokes that have a different premise, build, and punchline. Usually, I think there are lots of jealous people and haters, BUT there are lots of cheats.

Unless you have some serious proof of cheating of a really unique joke, I think it's not worth thinking about it.

Sometimes, people will accuse you where you're literally like, "What the fuck are you even talking about? How is that a steal? NOTHING is similar!" I just ignore those shit stirring idiots -- But it does inspire me to be more personal and more orignal.

wait, i am a little confused. will you still be performing at the laugh factory in nyc or are you moving to la?

You know, the access proxy filter at my work allows me to open your page but replaces your photograph with the proxy logo, claiming it contains pornographic images.

I googled your name as well as a few other Rudius Media bloggers and found i could see pictures of THEM but each and every one of yours was blocked! Do you have an unknown past you aren't telling us about?

Me and 2 friends caught you with Jaime Kennedy at the Improv, WPB...Dude, you had us hysterical...Whenever you are in our area again, we will definitely come out to support you...I really needed to laugh and I did, all night...Thanks for a great show!!! P.S. Everyone around our table were just as happy with your show as we were...G
